Plasma fusion microneedling is a novel treatment that has entered the UK market in 2024. It utilises the power of cold plasma and a roller to cover larger areas, or a stamp for more detailed treatment that smoothly, safely and efficiently, targeting elasticity, stretch marks and overall rejuvenating the skin by inducing the production of collagen and elastin. We are excited to be one of the first UK clinics to offer this German technological advancement in aesthetics and skin regeneration. We have carried out microneedling roller and EPN microneedling treatments for many years and have seen beneficial results in many individuals.

What is plasma fusion microneedling?

Fusion plasma is a technique in which a gas is passed through a magnetic field to create ionised gas, resulting in an electrical discharge that penetrates the skin surface to stimulate skin remodelling and enhance the regenerative effects of traditional microneedling. Microneedling creates controlled injuries in the skin that stimulate wound-healing mechanisms in the targeted area. The treatment can improve stretch marks, skin laxity, smooth fine lines, improve skin texture, reduce surface scarring and acne scars and firm the skin.

What does treatment involve?

The skin is thoroughly cleansed, and a serum is applied.  The serum will penetrate the skin more efficiently through the tiny punctures created during microneedling. Plasma fusion microneedling further enhances nutrient penetration into the skin with reduced inflammation. The treatment area will be covered adequately to stimulate repair mechanisms and rejuvenate the skin. The skin will commonly experience redness and swelling as a result of the roller treatment. If you opt for the microneedling stamp, it is less aggressive yet can easily target delicate areas such as the mouth and eyes with little discomfort. The sensation after treatment will feel like a sunburn in the area. We advise treating the area with care in line with our aftercare guidelines. Some clients will select days for treatment when their workload or tasks are lighter to ensure optimal skin healing. The skin should return to normal within a few hours or within 2-3 days after treatment (in rare cases, redness may persist for a few more days). When other previous treatments have been used in the area to supplement skin health, clients often do not experience redness lasting more than a few hours to a day; each individual is different.

Treatments can be carried out at a minimum interval of 4 weeks. Results can be seen for up to 12 weeks after your session, though some of our single-treatment-session clients can see observable improvement for up to 2 years after, as skin remodelling completes.

What are the potential benefits over other microneeding methods?

The plasma fusion microneeling has the added benefit of being anti-inflammatory and will help reduce healing time after the procedure. Cold plasma technology can be applied to the area to relieve the redness and swelling. Plasma fusion can also treat skin infections, so because the deeper layers of the skin are open to the environment after treatment, the risk of infection is reduced. There is also barrier repair initiated by cold plasma, which helps rebalance our skin, resulting in healthier, happier skin.

How much does plasma fusion microneedling cost?

Small area: £130 | Medium area: £170 | Large area: £250 (due to the invasive nature of the procedure, we do not treat more than a particular area, and each individual’s concerns can differ; this will be determined at your consultation).
