Plasma lesion removal treatment
It is common for individuals to develop skin lesions due to genetic or environmental factors. Skin blemishes such as milia, cherry angiomas, Campbell de Morgan spots, pigmentation, moles, skin tags, warts, verrucas, birthmarks, dermatofibromas, scar tissue, freckles, wisdom spots/sun spots, seborrheic keratoses, spot scar tissue and many others can be successfully removed using thermal plasma. The treatment is extremely precise and uses the astonishing 4th state of matter to vaporise the tissue and initiate rapid healing. Plasma technology was identified by Sir William Crookes in 1879, who termed it “radiant matter”. Plasma technology has been used for decades (1900s onwards) in the medical field for cauterisation and in dermal treatments since 2007, initially for treating pre-cancerous actinic keratoses. For detail and accuracy, we believe no lesion-removal treatment surpasses plasma lesion removal treatment. After all, stars are made of thermal plasma.
How does plasma lesion removal treatment work?
Plasma lesion removal treatment uses a specialist device that draws nitrogen from the air, passes it through a magnetic field to create an ionised gas, and dispenses it onto the skin via a tiny needle. The needle does not come into contact with the skin; it simply creates a tiny, pin-like plasma discharge on the skin’s surface. Plasma is the fourth state of matter, and it is astonishing to know that 99.9% of the universe is made up of this. As a result of the plasma discharge, skin tissue is vapourised and a biological dressing rapidly forms over the skin surface. It’s like an instantly perfect scab forms over the skin. It feels like a sting, and the intensity varies depending on the body or face area being treated and an individual’s tolerance.
Healing and downtime
Following the treatment, the natural biological dressing should be protected from damage or abrasion and kept dry for as long as possible (we advise at least 48 hours). Please see our aftercare recommendations, or contact us at any time if you are unsure what to do; we will outline the process and what to do before your treatment. Typically, it takes 5-14 days for the biological dressing to fall off on its own, leaving the lesion to either diminish or be eradicated.
How many plasma lesion removal treatments will I need?
We want the treatment to be safe and effective. It may be that a single treatment suffices, though this cannot be guaranteed and depends on the severity/size of the lesions and an individual’s predispositions. Multiple treatments may be required, and the interval between them can vary from 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the lesion being treated and the individual’s healing or skin type. We will guide you throughout the process to ensure that you achieve the desired outcome for your skin.
How much does plasma lesion removal treatment cost?
We charge from £70 per session. Prices vary depending on the size and number of lesions to be treated.
